Birdwatching

Hi All,Fall is here and it’s a great time to be outside.  Enjoy the changing colors of the trees, the birds flocking overhead heading south, and best of all – the fresh air.   Nothing smells the same as a crisp fall morning.   

When was the last time you got your binoculars or camera out?    Do you kids have their own pair of binoculars?  While it may seem OK to share, it has been found that when kids have their own binoculars or their own camera, they get more involved in the activities and will stay involved longer.   

There are some inexpensive binoculars out there, but you want to make sure they are of good enough quality that they don’t strain their eyes using them or so heavy they don’t want to carry them.    Pick out 2-3 pairs that you think will work and then let them pick the one they want.   If they get to pick them out, you will find that they will like them much better and will use them more often. 

Here’s my tip of the day – pack up the kids and a lunch and go hiking through a local park area.   Enjoy the trees and enjoy the birds.
